Never Forget

On this Memorial Day let us all take time to pause, remember, and reflect upon the sacrifice of so many in our military that paid the ultimate price by dying to protect, defend, and secure our freedom. 

Arlington National Cemetery

I took these pictures last December on a family trip to Washington, D.C. Like a lot of tourists we crammed in as much as we could. But the visit to Arlington National Cemetery was awe-inspiring and incredibly moving. The picture above is just a small section of Arlington. As you can see, simple white head stones roll across the landscape in every direction as far as you can see. The magnitude of bravery, courage, and sacrifice is staggering and overwhelming.

Truly, there is no greater love than for one to lay down one's life for one's friends.

In John 15:13, Jesus tells us greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. I am so thankful for these warriors and their families that gave all and for all those currently serving and sacrificing right now so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have. Ultimately, I am thankful for the love of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ paying the ultimate sacrifice for my eternal salvation and freedom from sin. There is no greater love than that.
